Job ID and Location Job ID: 86914 Location: Sacramento Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis and oversee the advanced practice team. Manage scheduling, time‑off requests, and organizational oversight of the work unit to ensure the competence and qualifications of direct reports. Collaborate with the APP manager on hiring, onboarding, and counseling. Provide practice supervision for all APP FTEs assigned, act as a liaison for APP services, and support the program manager’s duties in their absence. Deliver direct patient care to a diverse patient population and participate in patient and staff education while demonstrating leadership skills. Qualifications Current California license in RN/NP, RN/CRNA, RN/CNM, RN/CNS, or Physician Assistant Valid CA RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant Valid CA NP furnishing license (if NP candidate) Valid DEA number National board certification in an aligned specialty (e.g., Psychiatric specialty for mental health) Current American Heart Association ACLS, PALS, and other area‑specific certifications ATLS certification within one year of hire American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS, or UC Davis Health CPR Master’s degree, DNP, or PhD in a related healthcare field from an accredited school of nursing or PA school At least two years of APP leadership experience At least six months of experience with precepting, orienting, and APP education Strong communication, judgment, and organizational skills to function independently and meet hospital credentialing and billing standards Preferred Qualifications California Children’s Services (CCS) paneling One year or greater experience as a leader with direct reports One year or greater recent clinical experience in specialty care of the hiring department One year experience with precepting, orienting, and APP education Key Responsibilities 60% – Clinical Practice 40% – Non‑Clinical Department Overview The Emergency Medicine department provides Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma care for more than one third of California’s counties.
