Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position supports a vibrant K-8 district, with placements available at either the elementary or middle school level. As an educator, you’ll be making a direct impact in resource settings—working collaboratively to provide tailored support that helps every student thrive.

Your assignment will run from mid-August 2026 through May 2027, for a weekly schedule of 35-37.5 hours. The schools foster a welcoming environment for students and staff, encouraging innovation, compassion, and professional growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (IL PEL) with appropriate endorsements for Special Education
• Experience teaching in resource settings (elementary or middle school preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Skilled in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support student success
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide specialized instruction as outlined in IEPs for assigned students
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress monitoring
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Engage families as partners in their child’s education
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events
• Ensure compliance with district and state standards
