Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, focusing on home healthcare. You will travel to patients' residences in the Newark area, delivering therapeutic interventions within their familiar environments, which often enhances the effectiveness of treatment. Our flexible work arrangement allows you to choose your own hours from Monday to Friday, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients in their homes, assessing their physical abilities and limitations as they recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing various techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications aimed at improving mobility and reducing pain.
• Utilize tools and equipment such as resistance bands, weights, and gait training devices to facilitate patient recovery and progress.
• Monitor and document treatment efficacy, making adjustments to the therapeutic approach as patients make progress or face challenges.
• Educate patients, their families, and caregivers on treatment protocols and effective use of assistive devices to enhance self-care and independence.
• Stay updated with the latest physical therapy practices through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to patient care.

You will be working with a diverse group of patients, including children, adults, and seniors, each facing unique challenges based on their specific conditions. Whether addressing post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, or developmental issues, your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life through tailored therapy solutions.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice physical therapy in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in home care, is preferred to ensure you are fully prepared to handle the diverse needs of our patient population.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and documentation.
• Proficiency in computer skills and familiar with EMR systems for efficient patient management.

Compensation and Benefits
