Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and elderly patients utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.
- Craft customized treatment plans focused on achieving both short-term and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, or swallowing functionalities.
- Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions, honing in on areas such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to ensure a unified approach to care.
- Provide insightful education to patients and their families to facilitate ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Support the occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure a seamless care continuum during treatment.
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation that adheres to all local, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to continuous professional development and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field through educational opportunities and peer collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies across all age groups, with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and various care team members.
- Adaptability in therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and pertinent documentation standards.
