Role Overview The Major Gift Officer is a frontline fundraising professional responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic support from individuals, families, grateful patients, and community partners. Reporting to the Senior Director of Major Gifts and Legacy Giving, this role manages a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects and helps strengthen Bronson Health Foundation’s culture of philanthropy. Key Responsibilities Major Gift Fundraising and Portfolio Management Manage and actively cultivate a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. Develop individualized strategies for engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Conduct donor visits, discovery meetings, and relationship-building activities. Secure major gifts in partnership with Foundation leadership, physicians, executives, and board members. Align donor interests with Bronson Health Foundation priorities. Donor Strategy and Relationship Development Identify, qualify, and advance prospective donors through the major gift pipeline. Collaborate with the Senior Director and fundraising colleagues on coordinated donor strategies. Support blended and legacy giving conversations when appropriate. Ensure timely stewardship, recognition, and follow-up. Grateful Patient Engagement and Community Outreach Partner with physicians and clinical teams to support grateful patient fundraising. Build relationships with community members, volunteers, and philanthropic partners. Represent the Foundation at donor meetings, events, and community functions. Collaboration and Organizational Partnership Work with Foundation leadership to identify funding priorities and donor opportunities. Collaborate with communications, events, and advancement services teams to support donor engagement. Prepare donor briefings, proposals, meeting materials, and stewardship communications. Data Management and Reporting Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, and portfolio activity in the CRM. Track donor movement and progress toward goals. Use donor data and analytics to inform strategy and decision-making. Ensure compliance with Foundation policies and confidentiality standards. Strategic Impact Grow the major gift pipeline and annual philanthropic revenue. Strengthen donor engagement and long-term stewardship practices. Support campaign readiness through disciplined qualification and cultivation. Expand philanthropic engagement among grateful patients, families, physicians, and community stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree candidates with strong experience will be considered. Two to five years of experience in fundraising, advancement, sales, business development, or relationship management preferred. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence outcomes. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, discretion, and donor sensitivity. Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Preferred Experience Healthcare philanthropy, higher education, nonprofit fundraising, or mission-driven work. Experience managing donor or client portfolios. Familiarity with fundraising CRM systems and donor engagement strategies. Exposure to major gifts, grateful patient fundraising, or campaign initiatives.
