Senior Accountant

StevenDouglas has partnered with a premier, rapidly growing multi-state hospitality and experiential entertainment company to find a skilled Senior Accountant.

Operating dozens of high-energy, multi-functional venues across the country, our client delivers unforgettable, tech-forward experiences combining dining, gaming, and community attractions.

In this key role, you will report directly to the Director of Accounting and serve as a cornerstone for the corporate finance team. You will oversee general accounting functions, drive financial accuracy across multiple operating locations, and champion process improvements to support the company’s ongoing expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Evaluate operational performance across various venue locations, compiling data trends to deliver actionable financial insights and specialized reports for leadership.
• General Ledger & Close Management: Manage corporate asset, liability, and capital account entries while handling complex balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Support financial security by upholding internal control frameworks, researching regulatory updates, and ensuring strict alignment with GAAP and local tax/legal mandates.
• Process Optimization: Partner with accounting leadership to execute change management initiatives, design smarter workflows, and refine departmental policies.
• Audit & Discrepancy Resolution: Substantiate commercial transactions via careful documentation audits and research/resolve complex balance variances.
• Mentorship: Act as a technical resource for junior accounting team members, coordinating daily workflows and providing policy guidance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 4+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience (hospitality, retail, or multi-site venue experience is highly preferred).
• Technical Foundations: Advanced understanding of GAAP standards and a proven track record working with robust ERP/accounting software and Excel.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong capability to mentor staff, manage cross-functional projects, and communicate clear financial details to non-finance partners.
• Adaptability: Proven ability to manage competing priorities independently within a fast-moving, dynamic operational environment.
• Credentials: CPA designation is a strong plus.
