Director of Development

The Montgomery County Foundation is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused professional to join our team as Director of Development. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting people with purpose, building relationships throughout the community, and helping grow philanthropy in Montgomery County. Working closely with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, donors, professional advisors, and community partners, the Director of Development will play a key role in expanding the Foundation's impact while helping individuals, families, and businesses create lasting charitable legacies. We're looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and excited to bring fresh ideas to donor engagement and fundraising. What You'll Do Build meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors. Identify and cultivate new philanthropic opportunities throughout Montgomery County. Partner with the President & CEO to expand donor engagement and community visibility. Develop creative strategies that increase charitable giving and awareness of the Foundation. Work with professional advisors, businesses, and community leaders to grow charitable funds. Support donor stewardship and recognition activities. Help develop marketing and communication strategies that tell the Foundation's story. Assist with donor events, outreach activities, and community engagement. Maintain donor records and track development activities using the Foundation's CRM. We're Looking For Someone Who... Enjoys meeting new people and building authentic relationships. Is comfortable networking and representing the Foundation in the community. Brings creativity, initiative, and new ideas to fundraising. Is organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Believes in the power of philanthropy to strengthen communities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Five or more years of nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, community engagement, business development, or comparable relationship-building experience. Experience cultivating donors, sponsors, volunteers, clients, or community partners. Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems is helpful.
