Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess client needs and document case histories accurately from the initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, employing a variety of assessment tools and techniques.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, drawing on best practices in mental health counseling.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions utilizing telehealth modalities, ensuring clients feel supported and understood.

• Monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan based on client feedback and clinical judgment.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Provide support and follow-up for clients admitted to healthcare facilities, maintaining communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians as needed.

• Identify and address any behaviors or patterns that hinder recovery, coaching clients and their families on the tools necessary for successful outcomes.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in navigating mental health challenges, providing education and resources to enhance their support experience.

You will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, and other mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• Education: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Licensure: A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

• Certification: A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to engage clients effectively.

• Interpersonal Abilities: A compassionate, empathetic nature with a commitment to fostering positive relationships with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in a remote or telehealth setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, enhancing efficiency in managing client information.

• Experience dealing with dual diagnoses, including mental health and substance use disorders.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and an understanding of pharmacotherapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
