Step into an impactful role guiding middle school students through an engaging science curriculum for the remainder of the school year and beyond. This full-time, onsite position requires a skilled educator to teach general education science to a dynamic middle school caseload, blending dynamic instruction with strong classroom management. You’ll have an opportunity to teach primarily general education students, with the support of a dedicated SPED teacher for any students with special needs assigned to your classes.

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Develop and implement creative, standards-aligned lesson plans
• Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to inspire student growth
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of the subject matter and instructional strategies
• Manage a classroom environment with confidence and clear expectations
• Collaborate with site staff and utilize available resources to foster high achievement
• Incorporate urban teaching experience and adapt to the school community’s needs

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Active teaching certification or licensure for assigned caseload (or bachelor’s degree for emergency permit eligibility)
• Completion of required PA clearances
• Strong background in classroom and behavioral management
• Previous experience working within schools, especially urban settings
• Comfortable working onsite between 8:30AM and 4PM without schedule accommodations
• Reliable transportation for daily attendance
• Willingness to undergo a Zoom interview as part of the hiring process

This is a contract position beginning as soon as possible and extending until June 10, 2027, at 35 hours per week. The school community values educators who are passionate, professional, and collaborative.
