Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs, using standardized diagnostic tools and personalized interviews.

• Providing tailored one-on-one counseling sessions to assist clients in managing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue.

• Facilitating engaging group therapy sessions, such as support groups and psychoeducational workshops, aimed at fostering peer connections and collective healing.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that clearly articulate clients' goals and interventions, regularly reviewing progress to make necessary adjustments.

• Offering immediate crisis intervention support, including conducting risk assessments to ensure clients' safety, and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.

• Engaging in continuous professional development by participating in training sessions, workshops, and seminars to stay current with the latest evidence-based practices in mental health.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to ensure a holistic approach to client care, sharing insights and recommendations for comprehensive treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will specifically focus on working with a diverse clientele, including individuals experiencing mood disorders, trauma histories, dependence on substances, and other mental health concerns. Our clients come from varied backgrounds, requiring counselors who can adapt their approaches to meet unique cultural and personal needs effectively.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Active licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State, in compliance with state requirements, including passing state-recognized exams and completing supervised clinical hours.

• At least three years of supervised clinical experience, which may include internship or residency work, as well as ongoing professional development activities.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective rapport-building with clients, alongside excellent assessment and evaluation capabilities.

• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and an openness to integrating new techniques and approaches to enhance client outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Northwestern Behavioral Health offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, our benefits package includes:
