Teaching Assistant Professor - Graduate College

Position Overview Graduate College at North Carolina A\&T State University invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, non‑tenure‑track teaching assistant / associate professor position. An appointment at the teaching professor level may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. The initial appointment is two years and is eligible for renewal. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence, engage in culturally responsive teaching and high‑impact practices in teaching graduate‑level professional development courses and workshops, advise and mentor students, and provide service to the Graduate College, university, and professional community. Responsibilities Teach graduate courses. Conduct tutoring and supplemental instruction. Serve as an academic advisor for students in graduate certificate or post‑baccalaureate programs. Support student success initiatives. Provide other academic services to the Graduate College and the university. Collaborate with colleagues from other programs and departments. Qualifications Earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Collegiality and ability to collaborate with supervisors, faculty, staff, and students. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching graduate‑student professional development courses or workshops. Familiarity with culturally responsive and sustainable best practices in teaching graduate students. Knowledge of recent student‑centered, active and engaged learning strategies, and impactful practices in graduate course instruction and student engagement. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high‑quality customer service, and student success initiative experience.
