Registered Nurse - Night Orthopedic Unit (13 Weeks Contract)

Schedule

This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced orthopedic unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong orthopedic experience and be adept at managing pain and patient care effectively. This role requires flexibility in floating to other med-surg units based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort through effective pain management.
• Monitor patient conditions using telemetry and respond to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with a focus on orthopedic care.
• BCLS and NIH certifications are required; ACLS is preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred.
• Must be willing to float to any other med-surg unit as necessary.
