Job Title: Event Security Guard – Amerant Bank Arena (Prior LEO/FD/MIL only) Department: Event Security Reports To: Security Supervisor FLSA: Non‑Exempt Employment Type: Part‑Time Location: Amerant Bank Arena Job Summary: This part‑time, event‑based position is available exclusively to candidates with prior Law Enforcement, Fire Department, or Military Service. The role requires attending a variety of events and ensuring a safe environment for guests from entry to exit. Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week, primarily nights, weekends, and occasional holidays. Essential Functions: Monitor access to restricted areas and exterior doors. Control guest and vendor entry to the arena. Check credentials for employee and visitor access during events. Inspect items that fail magnetometer scans, using a security wand if necessary. Respond to security incidents and de‑escalate conflicts professionally. Provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience. Escort guests when needed. Follow safety and security policies and manage crisis situations. Operate radios and communicate effectively with staff. Report incidents to Supervisor or Management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. State of Florida D‑Security License. CPR/AED & First Aid certification preferred. Prior security and customer‑service experience required. Friendly, service‑oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills. Passionate about working with people and willingness to learn. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Assertive, detail‑oriented, team player with a professional demeanor. Self‑motivated and able to work independently. Flexible schedule with availability on weekends and nights. Reliable transportation. Must pass a background check. Demonstrated customer‑service, ethics, adaptability, problem‑solving, and punctuality. Work Environment: Arena setting with high noise, heavy crowd traffic, variable temperatures (often cold), bright or dark lighting, and occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics. Physical Demands: Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), talking, hearing, vision, and repetitive wrist/hands movements.
