Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities:

• Conduct culturally sensitive, strength-based assessments for new patients and their families to accurately diagnose and develop treatment plans.

• Provide individualized therapy and family counseling, tailoring sessions based on the unique needs of each patient.

• Complete timely billing, comprehensive documentation, and detailed treatment plans, ensuring compliance with insurance authorization requirements.

• Develop crisis and safety plans, including relapse prevention and wellness strategies, to empower patients in maintaining stability.

• Create comprehensive discharge plans upon patient completion of therapy, facilitating smooth transitions to independent functioning.

• Adhere to all applicable federal and state mental health regulations, including NEHS policies and procedures.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through training and continuing education to expand your therapeutic skills.

• Participate actively in case consultations and agency meetings, fostering collaborative discussions that enhance client care.

• Stay up-to-date with licensure requirements and mandatory training to maintain qualifications.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be serving a diverse population throughout Springfield, Massachusetts, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health issues. Our clients range from children to adults, presenting various clinical symptoms including anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and family dynamics. Your ability to adapt therapy styles to meet the cultural and personal backgrounds of clients is essential to ensuring effective treatment outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field that meets licensing requirements.

• Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist in Massachusetts (LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW).

Prior experience in outpatient mental health settings is preferred, especially familiarity with telehealth services and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
