Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro/Stroke Unit requiring NIHSS certification and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 13-week assignment on the 6 Stringfield Neuro Medicine unit
• Night shift, 18:45-07:15
• 30-bed designated stroke unit with some general medical-surgical patients mixed in
• Patient population ages 18 to 60+
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Core staffing includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns with the RN assuming full responsibility for team patients
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity
• Will be notified prior to shift if a float assignment is required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide care for a fast-paced Neurology/Stroke Team focused on improving patients' quality of life and ADLs
• Strong teamwork and clear communication skills required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate depending on distance from facility
• Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
