Description: Work Days: Fri. thru Tues. Work Hours: 6 am to 2 pm. Work Location: 919 Mission Rd., San Antonio, TX 78210. Requirements Bilingual in English & Spanish High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of one year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents Supervisory/leadership experience preferred Summary Under the general direction of the Lead, Evening and Weekend Supervisors, the Team Leader is responsible for the coordination and implementation of direct care operations in a manner that promotes best practices and facilitates the optimum delivery of quality trauma‑informed care and services to UAC. The Team Leader provides guidance, support and feedback to direct care staff, addressing issues and concerns within the team and working closely with supervisors to achieve desired results. The Team Leader ensures that each UAC’s physical, social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs are met in accordance with agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy. Position Responsibilities Reporting to work as scheduled and ensuring supervision of residents without interruption until relieved from duty Elevating pertinent information or concerns regarding the basic health and well‑being of UAC and their work/living environment Ensuring special supervision and safety plan measures are adhered to at all times Facilitating and monitoring intakes/admissions Ensuring supervision ratios are maintained at all times, increasing supervision during field trips and as needed due to UAC need Modeling professional conduct and demonstrating adequate skills, abilities and judgement Maintaining the safety and well‑being of children through supervision, adherence to program policies, and appropriate interventions. This may include the use of approved crisis management techniques, such as physical containment, when necessary to protect the child or others from harm Delivering client services and all daily interactions within the Sanctuary Model framework Ensuring completion of documentation in accordance with agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy Communicating effectively with direct care staff to promote continuity of care and ensure the safety and well‑being of UAC Assuming role of direct care staff as needed to meet ratio requirements and/or special supervision needs Coordinating and/or assisting in the facilitation of off‑campus activities Providing timely and professional feedback to direct care staff regarding work habits, communication and safety, and elevating persistent performance issues to the supervisor Conducting floor observations to monitor interactions and model trauma‑informed care values Ensuring direct care staff work with UAC in an array of areas including social skills, emotion regulation, academics, problem solving, personal hygiene, and life‑skill development Ensuring adherence to medication administration procedures Coordinating and/or providing transportation of UAC using agency vehicles Providing training, education and ongoing support to direct care staff Completing routine inspections of facilities used by UAC, submitting maintenance requests, and ensuring direct care staff and UAC complete household chores to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment Completing other duties as assigned in the absence of the Lead Supervisor, Weekend Supervisor or Lead Supervisor Demonstrating proficiency in knowledge of agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy Actively participating in the enhancement and/or improvement of the living and working environment for residents and employees Attending administrative staff meetings, staff retreats, and other team‑building activities Demonstrating knowledge and sensitivity of cultural norms, values and heritage; being sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, taking precautionary measures to ensure safety and well‑being of self and others Protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization, including client names and information, services rendered, donor names and gifts, internal and external investigations, and financial information Adhering to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy Approaching interactions and undertakings with solutions, fostering collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization Completing a 10‑day New Employee Orientation; failure to meet this requirement will result in termination Other duties as assigned by the Shelter Supervisor, Program Director or Assistant Program Director Competencies Adaptability – ability to adjust to changing conditions and remain committed to excellence Building Collaboration – ability to develop, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships to accomplish set goals and the organization’s mission Developing Others – ability to see potential in others and engage them to enhance their skills and knowledge Leadership – exhibiting behavior that motivates others and drives action Performance Management – coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback, tracking progress, addressing concerns and recognizing achievements Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum of one‑year employment in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents; supervisory/leadership experience preferred License and Credentials: Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance; proof of immunity to vaccine‑preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children Other Travel Requirements: 10% local and 10% overnight travel.
