What You'll Do

• Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams on adult and pediatric patients
• Coordinate exam scheduling, patient transport, and billing documentation
• Assist cardiologists during exams, preparing and measuring M-modes, and exchanging relevant diagnostic information
• Handle dictations, deliver and pick up reports in a timely fashion
• Respond to patient needs during exams and monitor for changes in condition
• Maintain supply inventory, clean and organize work areas
• Log patient and exam data, ensuring proper record documentation
• Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
• Share on-call responsibilities for emergency exams outside regular hours
• Maintain quality control of equipment and coordinate repairs when needed
• Stay current with advances in echocardiography, seek mentorship, and participate in continuing education
• Assist with other cardiac procedures as needed

What You Need

• ARDMS/CCI registered or registry eligible in echocardiography
• New Mexico Echo Sonographer License
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent with a 2-year allied health program
• Two or more years of echocardiogram experience (preferred)
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle manual dexterity tasks
