Kforce has a client in Northbrook, IL that is seeking a Category Manager. Responsibilities:

Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement lifecycle for technology-related spend, including software, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, managed services, and IT consulting engagements
Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx development, supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, renewals, and vendor management
Build and maintain strong relationships with technology suppliers to ensure high service levels and favorable commercial terms
Develop and execute category strategies that drive value, mitigate risk, and support business objectives
Partner closely with stakeholders across IT, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business units to align sourcing initiatives with organizational priorities
Analyze spend data and market trends to identify optimization opportunities and develop business cases for sourcing initiatives
Lead negotiations for software licensing, cloud subscriptions, professional services, and managed service agreements
Drive supplier rationalization and consolidation efforts to maximize buying power and improve operational efficiency
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, governance processes, and contractual standards
Support process improvements, sourcing transformation initiatives, and procurement best practices
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field
3+ years of experience in IT sourcing, strategic procurement, category management, or technology vendor management
Demonstrated experience leading RFx processes and contract negotiations
Strong understanding of commercial contracting practices and supplier management
Proven ability to identify and deliver meaningful cost savings and value improvements through strategic sourcing
Experience analyzing spend data and developing sourcing strategies based on business needs and market insights
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable engaging with and presenting recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Enterprise software and SaaS solutions
Cloud technologies
Hardware and infrastructure
IT professional services and consulting engagements
Managed services
