Our client, a growing organization with a collaborative Finance team, is searching for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk. This person will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice processing, vendor communication, payment processing, account reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven position ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and working independently while collaborating with internal departments and external vendors.
Compensation: $21-$24 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- Review, code, and post invoices accurately while maintaining organized Accounts Payable records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor a high-volume vendor email inbox, respond to inquiries, and coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Process weekly vendor payments and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
- Use Microsoft Excel to review and analyze invoices, payment records, and vendor information.
- Assist with audits, special projects, and other Finance team initiatives while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Accounts Payable, accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience is preferred, with experience using accounting or ERP systems a plus.
- Experience processing vendor payments through ACH, wire, and/or check is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional customer service abilities, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
