Make a meaningful difference in Lehigh County area schools as a skilled paraprofessional or instructional assistant. Opportunities are now open for dedicated individuals to support students in multiple disabilities support (MDS) classrooms, encompassing both functional and behavioral needs. These contract positions run through the end of the 2026-27 school year, with assignments aligning to the school calendar.

You’ll work between 29 and 35 hours per week (depending on assignment), supporting classroom teachers and providing direct assistance to students with diverse needs. Placement will be based on current school and classroom requirements in Lehigh County—candidate preferences are considered when possible.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience working as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or in a school/special education setting.
• Meets at least ONE of the Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification requirements:
  • 48+ college credits, Associate degree or higher, OR
  • State/local assessment (e.g., PA’s Credential of Competency or CDA; must complete credential within 60 days if not already held).
• Ability to perform personal care (e.g., lifting, diapering, feeding, toileting) as required.
• Comfortable supporting students displaying challenging behaviors (hitting, biting, spitting, elopement, etc).
• Reliable transportation and ability to consistently arrive on time.
• Willing to complete all onboarding and clearance processes promptly.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional, personal care, and behavioral support to assigned students.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment in collaboration with educators and therapists.
• Monitor and respond proactively to student needs throughout the school day.
• Maintain accurate records and follow school/district policies.

These roles require a compassionate, team-oriented approach in dynamic school settings. Interviews are in-person and scheduled weekly—positions are filled quickly based on onboarding completion.
