This role involves delivering high-quality direct patient care within a specialized cardiac intensive care unit, ensuring clinical standards are met through evidence-based interventions and collaborative teamwork. Job Details Position Description: Deliver high-quality direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring safe, evidence-based interventions aligned with organizational policies and clinical standards. Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, evaluating outcomes and adjusting treatment to optimize patient safety and recovery. Administer physician and nursing orders promptly, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and advancing quality improvement initiatives. Lead discharge planning efforts, collaborating with patients and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions and effective post-acute care planning. Unit Description: CVICU with 28 beds, primarily focused on cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure patient populations. The unit includes high-risk cardiac interventions such as open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT. Scrub color is Navy. The unit may require float coverage to MICU, SICU, or medical/cardiac stepdown units. Certifications and Experience: Current Licensure verification as a Nurse (Nursys), professional drivers license or state ID, relevant Ascension profile, and three years of ICU OH experience. Preferred experience includes cardiac advanced device therapy management, specifically with IABP, Impella, or Swan-Ganz management. Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Start Date: 09/29/2026 End Date: 12/28/2026 Additional Information: This position requires working in an environment with high-acuity cardiac patients, with scope involving complex cardiac procedures and device management. Candidates must have at least 0 years of experience, with a preference for those experienced in advanced cardiac device therapy management.
