Payroll Specialist

Payroll SpecialistWe are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This onsite role will provide essential payroll support to the Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting with the full-cycle, multi-state payroll function across multiple entities. This individual supports some of the activities necessary to process payroll, including maintaining related records, address questions and issues, reports, reconciliations and ad hoc requests as necessary. This role requires an understanding of payroll systems, compliance regulations, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in managing complex payroll functions in a fast-paced environment.Required Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and support processing of payroll runs across multiple U.S. states and entities, ensuring accuracy of hours, earnings, deductions, tax withholdings and compliance with internal policies and wage rules.Help maintain compliance across U.S. states, including staying current on Federal, State, and Local payroll laws.Support reconciliation of payroll data and benefits across systems, ledgers and vendorsMaintain organized payroll documentation, tax records and update employee information to support accurate recordkeeping and payroll processing.Investigate payroll questions, address discrepancies, and provide timely support to employees regarding pay-related matters, questions, errors and escalate to payroll supervisor as necessary.Prepare payroll reconciliations, internal reviews, audits (internal and external) and reporting activities.Ad hoc requests as necessary.Required Skills/Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of payroll processing, including payroll taxes, reconciliations, and internal controlsStrong analytical, detail oriented, accuracy, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationFamiliarity with payroll/HRIS platforms and Microsoft Excel.Ability to work independently while flagging issues proactively.Preferred Skills/Qualifications:4+ years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.Experience processing multi-state payroll and handling complex payroll scenarios preferred.Clearance Level Required: NoneTravel Required: NoneWorking Conditions:The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.Export Control / ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms.Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.Salary: $36.05-$40.86 per hour Pay depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
