Accounts Receivable Specialist

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Hiring Range: $19.74 - $26.96 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations). (For All External Hires) Job Summary: Responsible for follow‑up of complex claims for payment. A talent acquisition caregiver will provide more details during the interview process. Major Responsibilities: Call insurance companies and utilize payer web‑sites while working detailed reports to secure outstanding payments. Review rejections in assigned payers and plan to determine validity of rejection and take appropriate action to resolve the invoice. Calculate and post adjustments based on third party reimbursement guidelines and contracts. Make appropriate payer and plan changes to secondary insurers or responsible parties. Input missing data as required and correct registration and other errors as indicated. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: High School Diploma (required) Experience/Skills: Previous Revenue Cycle knowledge in one of the following areas including PFS, Customer Service, Cash Posting, Financial Assistance, Patient Access, HIM/Coding and/or 3rd party Reimbursement (required) Ability to perform assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner (required) Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people (required) Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (required) One or more years of experience in health care billing functions (preferred) Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
