Associate Scientist - Solid State Characterization
Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina
Associate Scientist position supporting solid state characterization and polymorph screening of pharmaceutical drug candidates. Role involves X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, microscopy, and particle characterization using contemporary materials science techniques in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct solid state characterization of small molecule pharmaceuticals using XRPD, thermal analysis, moisture sorption, and spectroscopy
- Support multidisciplinary teams in crystallization, polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening activities
- Perform physical and surface characterization of pharmaceutical powders including particle size and shape analysis
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and formulation teams to define characterization strategies for solid form selection
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous electronic laboratory notebook entries
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, or chemical engineering with 2+ years experience; or Master's degree
- Experience with solid state characterization techniques (XRPD, PLM, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy)
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry
- Experience solving materials science problems through experimental approaches
- Excellent organizational skills and written/oral communication abilities
- Authorization to work in United States indefinitely
