Senior Solid State NMR Scientist
Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina
Eurofins seeks a Senior Solid State NMR Scientist to support pharmaceutical materials characterization using ssNMR techniques. The role involves data collection and interpretation for drug substances and products, with collaboration across Materials Science teams in Groton, CT.
Responsibilities
- Collect and interpret ssNMR data for crystalline and amorphous pharmaceutical materials
- Apply quantitative ssNMR methods to measure API and drug product components
- Design and conduct experiments with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with Materials Science colleagues to develop characterization strategies
- Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebook entries and contribute to scientific method development
Requirements
- Ph.D. in chemistry or related field with ssNMR expertise, OR B.A./M.S. in pharmaceutical science/chemistry with 2-3+ years ssNMR experience
- Proficiency in ssNMR sample preparation, data acquisition, and 1D/2D spectra interpretation
- Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry principles
- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills
- Independent work capability with excellent written and oral communication
- Experience with solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA, microscopy) preferred
- Vibrational spectroscopy knowledge (FTIR, NIR, Raman) advantageous
