Senior Materials Scientist
Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina
Eurofins seeks a Senior Materials Scientist to develop solid-form strategies for complex pharmaceutical molecules including PROTACs and molecular glues. The role involves advanced characterization, crystallization techniques, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support drug formulation and clinical development in Groton, CT.
Responsibilities
- Conduct solid-state characterization of large, complex pharmaceutical molecules
- Apply crystallization and recrystallization techniques to screen drug forms
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and formulation teams on screening strategies
- Develop innovative approaches to solid-form selection for clinical studies
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to scientific knowledge development
Requirements
- Master's degree in chemistry, materials science, or related field
- 2+ years experience in pharmaceutical solid-state characterization and API testing
- Expertise in analytical techniques: XRPD, PLM, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy
- Experience with infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or solid-state NMR
- Knowledge of amorphous solid dispersion formulation strategies
- Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry principles
- Mathematical modeling experience and strong data analysis skills
