Senior Scientist - Pharmaceutical Materials Scientist

Eurofins seeks a senior materials scientist to design and characterize solid-form strategies for complex pharmaceutical molecules, including PROTACs and molecular glues. The role involves advanced characterization, crystallization techniques, and cross-functional collaboration in Groton, CT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct solid-state characterization of beyond Rule-of-5 molecules using contemporary techniques
• Apply novel crystallization methods to recrystallize complex pharmaceutical compounds
• Support polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening activities with cross-functional teams
• Develop and implement innovative solid-form screening and characterization strategies
• Maintain accurate records in electronic laboratory notebook systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry or related field with 2+ years experience
• Expertise in pharmaceutical solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, PLM, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy)
• Experience with infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or solid-state NMR
• Demonstrated problem-solving with large molecules and particle characterization
• Knowledge of amorphous solid dispersion strategies and formulation design
• Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry fundamentals
• Mathematical modeling experience preferred
