Schedule: Part-time to full-time, 20–40 hours per week

Work arrangemen t: Primarily in-office; eligible for 1–2 remote days per week after 90 days

Pay : $28–$36 per hour, depending on experience

\n

We are an established San Diego law practice seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Legal Billing & Operations Coordinator to support our attorneys and clients. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys keeping important processes organized and accurate, communicates professionally, and wants room to grow with the firm.

\n

You will work closely with the firm’s office manager, Owner, clients, and outside bookkeeper. This position focuses on HR coordination, billing, payments, collections, payroll support, and client-related financial administration.

\n

Responsibilities\n

\n
• Coordinate day-to-day HR administration, including employee records, onboarding, and related documentation
\n
• Support payroll preparation and processing
\n
• Maintain organized bookkeeping source documents and provide them to the firm’s bookkeeper
\n
• Assist with routine bookkeeping and account-related recordkeeping
\n
• Enter and reconcile client payments in the firm’s systems
\n
• Prepare and send client bills, track billing matters, and follow up on outstanding balances
\n
• Assist with client intake, including gathering information and coordinating next steps
\n
• Prepare and collect retainers, document receipts, and follow the firm’s procedures for handling client funds
\n
• Communicate courteously and professionally with clients about billing, payments, and account status
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and help improve administrative workflows
\n

\n Qualifications\n

\n
• Experience in a law firm, professional-services office, billing, bookkeeping, payroll, HR administration, or a related role
\n
• Strong organization and attention to detail, especially when handling financial records
\n
• Comfortable using accounting, billing, payroll, and office software; able to learn new systems
\n
• Clear, professional communication skills and sound judgment with confidential information
\n
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines and follow established procedures
\n
• A proactive, dependable approach and interest in growing with the firm
\n
• A background check is required
\n

Compensation and benefits\n

The hourly rate is $28–$36, depending on experience and qualifications. Full-time employees (30 hours) are offered health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k); two weeks of vacation; sick time; and eight paid holidays. Remote work of 1–2 days per week may be available after 90 days.
