The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course: Mental Health Technician Important Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department. Primary Responsibilities The ability to teach 120 hours (3 days a week for 3 hours in hybrid format), which includes the following subject areas: Psychological Development at all Life Stages Disease Characteristics, Signs, and Symptoms Treatment and Intervention modalities Skills: assisting with daily living; attending to patient behavior problems; assistance in crisis intervention; group facilitation; patient education; recreational activities; personal hygiene; vital signs Ethical Conduct, Patient Rights, and Cultural Competency Preparing student for industry certification exam Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current registration as a NJ Licensed Registered Nurse Previous teaching experience Experience teaching adult learners Three (3) years of experience working in the Mental Health field Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy Ability to teach in both in-person and virtual formats Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Experience teaching in higher education Mental Health First Aid Instructor Certification Five (5) years of experience as In-patient mental health nurse Supplemental Information Please include day, evening and/or Saturday availability in your application.
