Overview
Registered Nurse - PCU in San Luis Obispo, California. Travel - Temporary Assignment in a hospital setting. Start date: 08/17/2026. Contract length: 13 weeks. 36 hours per week, nights (12-hour shifts) 3x12. This role is positioned in the step-down unit and is represented by CNA.

Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, ensuring timely assessment and intervention.
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and monitor patients to identify and respond to life-threatening emergencies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for adverse effects and responding to changes in patient status.
- Supervise and delegate care tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice, coordinating with the broader care team.
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient documentation, ensuring continuity of care and clear communication with the care team.
- Educate patients and families as appropriate, promoting safety, comfort, and understanding of care plans.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligibility as dictated by the staffing requirements).
- BLS certification (required at hire; willingness to obtain/maintain as needed).
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a PCU, step-down, or similar acute care setting.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced, neurovascular/step-down environment.
- Strong critical thinking, ECG interpretation, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities; comfort collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
