We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our team at our auto auction in South Houston, TX.

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely processing of accounts payable, posting charges into our auction software, and supporting daily accounting operations. This role also requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in all interactions.

Work Hours for Accounting Clerk

• Full-time (40 hours a week)
• Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9AM - 5PM
• Thursday 9AM - 6PM
• Friday 9AM - 2 or 3PM

Responsibilities of Accounting Clerk

• Always provide efficient and courteous service to all customers.
• Always exhibit 'hands on' and direct approach with customers.
• Timeliness, accuracy, and completion of billing for pick-ups, deliveries, fuel, details, and any other charges that may apply to the sale and/or no sale of a vehicle.
• Timeliness, accuracy, and completion of the application of all charges against a vehicle prior to sale of vehicle so they may be deducted from proceeds.
• Timeliness, accuracy, and completion of processing payments into the Accounting System.
• Prompt, professional handling of phone calls.
• Take receipt of invoices and receive approvals.
• Verify accuracy of invoices.
• Communicate with other departments.
• Work well independently as well as a team player.
• Timely communication of issues that may be deemed as detrimental to the success of operations to Management.
• Credit card payment/application.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Requirements for Accounting Clerk

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous office experience. Previous accounting experience required.
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
• Solid computer skills, including ability to use Internet and MS Office effectively.
• Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required.
• Data Entry Skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
