Job Summary: Provide expert evaluation and treatment for musculoskeletal, vascular, and neurological conditions tailored to each patient's needs. Deliver education and preventative care to patients, their families, and healthcare associates. Act as a vital liaison among patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and social services to ensure coordinated and compassionate physical therapy services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Utilize clinical expertise and sound judgment to care for patients across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric, ensuring high-quality treatment including evaluation, planning, implementation, and education.
- Operate therapeutic equipment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, exercise devices, and wound care tools.
- Guide patients in the use of assistive devices, braces, orthotics, prosthetics, and orthopedic equipment.
- Assist patients with mobility, strengthening exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, activities of daily living, and functional training.
- Adapt physiotherapeutic techniques for patients with cognitive or physical limitations to ensure effective therapy.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient care in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including peer review and patient care evaluation.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues, supporting a positive care environment.
- Supervise aides, students, and volunteers as needed.
- Contribute to departmental education efforts and pursue ongoing professional development.
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association, or American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree is required. Continuing education relevant to clinical practice is expected.
Licensure and Certifications: Must hold or be eligible for licensure in the applicable state. CPR certification is mandatory.
