Administrative Specialist 1

Position Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented Administrative Specialist 1 to support the accurate processing and review of Morrissey and local sanction actions. This role ensures requests meet agency policies and OAR requirements, verifies supervision types, calculates sanction days, and determines appropriate Board involvement based on case details and risk factors. The specialist maintains precise records, updates sentence computations, tracks sanctions and revocations, and communicates Board actions clearly and promptly. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely case processing. Responsibilities Ensure requests meet agency policies and OAR requirements, verify supervision types, calculate sanction days, and determine appropriate Board involvement based on case details and risk factors. Maintain precise records, update sentence computations, track sanctions and revocations, and communicate Board actions clearly and promptly. Minimum Qualifications Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR an associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Qualification LEDS certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Desired Attributes Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to interpret and apply Oregon Administrative Rules, Board policies, and statutory requirements with confidence; Clear and professional communication skills; Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while exercising sound judgment and discretion; Strong customer service orientation, maintaining professionalism and composure during sensitive or high‑pressure inquiries; Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to privacy laws, agency policy, and records management standards. Background Check & CJIS Clearance Candidate must pass a CJIS fingerprint‑based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Certain felony convictions may be disqualifying. CJIS clearance is conducted at the conditional job offer.
