Medical Assistant - Medical Center

Location: Medical Center, Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Department: Neurosurgery

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in the Houston Medical Center . This is a great opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant looking to work in a professional Neurosurgery department with a consistent weekday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support physicians and clinical staff with daily patient care and administrative duties.

   

• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with rooming and vital signs.

   

• Obtain and document accurate patient information.

   

• Assist with maintaining exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.

   

• Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record as needed.

   

• Provide professional and compassionate patient service.

   

• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control procedures.

   

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations and facility policies.

   

• Perform other Medical Assistant duties as assigned.

   

Facility Requirement: This is a non-smoking facility , and candidates must be able to pass a required drug and nicotine screening .

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

   

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

   

• American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.

   

• Previous experience in a specialty clinic or Neurosurgery setting preferred.

   

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

   

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

   

• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.

   

• Must be able to successfully complete required drug and nicotine screening .
