Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient population that includes pulmonary, general medical, COPD, asthma, and tracheostomy patients, as well as patients with longer lengths of stay
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry monitoring
• Manage pulmonary patients requiring tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and supplemental oxygen including BiPAP/CPAP (no ventilators)
• Document accurately using EPIC , PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1, with potential to run 6:1 based on unit needs
• Float within the service line as needed and fulfill a weekend requirement of 3 weekends (6 weekend shifts) every 6 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• BCLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Demonstrated skill in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
