Business Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious law firm with a highly regarded business and securities litigation practice. This opportunity is available in Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA .

Position Overview

The firm is seeking a talented litigation attorney with 2–6 years of significant litigation experience to join its Business and Securities Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex commercial litigation matters and be comfortable managing sophisticated, high-level assignments while delivering excellent work product.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex business and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Assist with discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Manage project-based assignments while effectively multitasking across multiple matters.
• Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, junior associates, and professional staff.
• Produce thoughtful, intelligent, and high-quality legal work product.
• Work with and oversee junior associates and professional staff as appropriate.
• Represent clients in sophisticated business and securities disputes.
• Contribute to matters involving technology litigation, class actions, and company-versus-company disputes, as applicable.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of significant litigation experience.
• Experience practicing within the Litigation Department of a comparable law firm .
• Strong background in complex commercial litigation .
• Experience managing project-based assignments and balancing multiple high-level matters.
• Experience working with and overseeing junior associates and professional staff.
• Current admission to the California Bar is required.
• High level of academic achievement from a law school institution.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of work product.
• Experience with technology litigation, class action defense, and/or company-versus-company disputes is preferred but not required.

Compensation

$235,000 – $390,000 annually , with the final offer dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset.
