Computer Service Technology: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) San Diego Community College District – District Wide – Adjunct – Open Until Filled. Major Responsibilities Deliver instruction in lecture and lab settings according to established curriculum and course outlines. Serve as a primary point of contact for students outside of scheduled classes. Maintain professional standards of conduct and ethics while continuously updating knowledge in the subject matter. Complete all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records of student progress. Create a learning environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Serve the Discipline Area: Geographic Information Systems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution plus at least two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment. Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution plus at least six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment. Equivalent qualification level and experience. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desired Qualifications California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer Science or Computer and Related Technologies (valid for life). Foreign degree holders whose coursework has been evaluated by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC. (ACEI). Licenses / Certifications California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer Science or Computer and Related Technologies (if applicable). Conditions of Employment Submission of official transcripts as required by the application process. Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam upon initial appointment and renewal every four (4) years. Fingerprints taken by a Live Scan system with clearance received prior to first day of employment. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.
