Reports To: Director of Operations (with clinical oversight from the supervising physician/radiologist)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Imaging Technologist / Patient Care Coordinator is a cross-trained clinical and administrative team member who supports both patient care and day-to-day center operations. This role helps deliver PerfeQtion's breast imaging and wellness services while also managing key patient-service functions including scheduling, check-in/check-out, patient communication, records, and visit coordination. Comprehensive training is provided on PerfeQtion's imaging technology, testing protocols, and administrative workflows. The ideal candidate is warm, organized, technically capable, and eager to grow into expanded imaging responsibilities while maintaining PerfeQtion's concierge-level patient experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical & Technical Support

• Train to perform QT breast imaging in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and PerfeQtion's training program.
• Support patient preparation and positioning for imaging and testing while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and a calm patient experience.
• Perform body composition scans in accordance with established protocols and provided training, including patient preparation, positioning, scan completion, and documentation.
• Facilitate Tiers testing, including patient instructions, specimen handling, labeling, documentation, and preparation for laboratory submission in accordance with established protocols.
• As trained and permitted, perform blood spot collection for laboratory testing, including patient preparation, specimen collection, labeling, handling, and preparation for shipment.
• Verify patient identity, orders, relevant history, and required documentation before imaging or testing.
• Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, routine quality checks, and troubleshooting; promptly escalate equipment concerns.
• Accurately document imaging/testing information and technical notes in the appropriate scan-tracking, laboratory, and EMR systems.
• Participate in initial and ongoing training with the goal of developing competency across PerfeQtion's imaging, testing, and center workflows.
• Patient Services & Center Operations
• Greet patients warmly and create a calm, welcoming experience from arrival through departure.
• Manage appointment scheduling, reschedules, cancellations, reminders, and waitlist activity.
• Check patients in and out; verify demographic information and ensure required forms and consents are complete.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling information in the practice management/EMR and scan-tracking systems.
• Track radiology submissions through the established workflow and coordinate with the clinical and operations teams to ensure studies are complete and available for timely radiologist review.
• Own the radiology upload workflow: upload completed imaging studies (DICOMs) and required supporting information to the Avara radiology system for radiologist review, verify successful and accurate submission, and promptly address or escalate missing information, upload errors, or other issues that could delay interpretation.
• Coordinate closely with the imaging technologist and clinical team to maintain patient flow and communicate delays, changes, or special patient needs.
• Handle patient questions with empathy and professionalism, escalating clinical or sensitive matters appropriately.
• Support follow-up calls, patient outreach, laboratory/testing coordination, and other patient-service activities as assigned.
• Maintain an organized, stocked, and welcoming center, including basic supply management and general administrative support.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and follow all applicable HIPAA, privacy, infection-control, and safety requirements.

CROSS-TRAINED TEAM MODEL

PerfeQtion operates a cross-trained team model. Team members are expected to understand and support both clinical and administrative workflows as needed to maintain a seamless patient experience and efficient center operations. This position will initially carry significant patient-services and administrative responsibility while developing technical competency and providing increasing imaging and testing support within the scope of training and applicable requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, healthcare education, or relevant certification is a plus.
• Prior healthcare, medical office, imaging, wellness, or patient-facing experience preferred but not required.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technology, imaging equipment, technical procedures, and clinical workflows.
• Excellent interpersonal, phone, and written/verbal communication skills with a calm, compassionate bedside manner.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to shift between patient-facing, technical, and administrative responsibilities.
• Comfort with office and healthcare technology, including scheduling systems, email/Google Workspace, EMR/practice-management systems, and willingness to learn new platforms.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible, and comfortable working in a small-practice environment where team members support one another across functions.
• BLS/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within the timeframe established by PerfeQtion.
• Interest in women's health and a genuine commitment to making patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning.
• Ability to operate imaging and office equipment, including reaching, bending, and occasional light lifting of up to 25 lbs.
• Manual dexterity sufficient for imaging/testing equipment, specimen collection as applicable, computer use, and documentation.
