CGP: Accountant I or Accountant II

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Accountant II to manage the day-to-day financial aspects of governmental contracts for select agency programs. This role involves handling complex accounting tasks within tight deadlines, including monthly closings, financial statements, and account reconciliations. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $27 to $33 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:- Administer and monitor governmental contracts for specific programs.
- Interpret financial data and collaborate with management on its utilization.
- Conduct financial analysis and summarize findings.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Maintain and review the general ledger.
- Prepare general journal entries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions). Knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus.
- Ability to make sound accounting decisions within established guidelines.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a focus on core responsibilities.
- Familiarity with accounting and auditing practices, including fund accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive professional experience in accounting.
