CGP: Accountant III

We are seeking an experienced Accountant III to join our client's Accounting Department. This role focuses on administering government grants, including contract billing, general accounting for contract financial recording, expense reimbursement, and month-end closing. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, analytical abilities, and experience with non-profit organizations and government contracts. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $38 to $40 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Administer accounting, budgeting, and monitoring of governmental contracts for selective programs.
- Interpret financial information and consult with management on its use.
- Perform financial analysis and summarize results.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Produce various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Review and maintain the general ledger and prepare general journals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, @functions, etc.).
- Ability to make sound accounting decisions within established guidelines.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to remain focused on core responsibilities.
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing practices and principles, including fund accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive professional experience in accounting.
