Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Acute Leukemia & Hematology Unit – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotating or Night shift options available). Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. Weekend coverage variable based on unit requirements.

Highlights:

• Specialized hematology unit caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Patient ratio goal of 1:4, may extend to 1:5
• No chemotherapy certification required
• Epic charting system with 72 hours of orientation
• 24-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Social Services
• High-acuity medical unit with frequent blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Current, consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Epic charting experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
