Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference each day as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming elementary school setting near Chicago, IL. This full-time contract position starts August 26, 2026, and extends through June 3, 2027, offering you the chance to support a focused caseload of five students in grades 3rd and 4th within an instructional classroom environment. Enjoy consistent hours—Monday through Friday, from 8:40AM to 3:25PM—while providing crucial guidance and resources to students who need it most.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois teaching license with Special Education certification (required)
• Previous school-based experience in Special Education
• Strong understanding of developing and implementing individualized instruction and behavior plans
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with support staff, students, and families
• Effective organization and classroom management skills
• Ability to participate in 30-minute interviews for a smooth placement process

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver tailored instruction that addresses each student’s unique learning needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment for students with diverse abilities
• Maintain accurate and thorough records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians on student progress and goals
• Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings as required
