This position offers a contract opportunity for an enthusiastic educator ready to make a positive impact working with 3rd to 6th graders at a vibrant intermediate school. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, support professionals, and families to deliver outstanding student-centered instruction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for grades K-6 (SPED Cert K-6)
- Experience working with elementary or intermediate age groups, preferably in a resource or similar special education environment
- Ability to develop individualized instruction and work effectively with a caseload of 10-12 students
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with team members, parents, and support staff
- Passion for empowering diverse learners to thrive academically and socially
Role Responsibilities:
- Implement specialized resource programs tailored to 3rd–6th grade students’ needs
- Develop, adapt, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and inclusive learning strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure coordinated support
- Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment where students develop confidence and independence
- Monitor academic and behavioral progress, keeping detailed records and regularly communicating with families
- Maintain compliance with all local and state educational requirements
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and positive behavior interventions throughout the school day
