Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting 3rd and 4th grade learners in a dedicated instructional classroom. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, where you’ll contribute to a small, focused caseload of five students, allowing you to offer tailored support and maximize individual growth.

As part of a collaborative academic environment, you’ll teach full time, working 37.5 hours per week from 8:40AM to 3:25PM. The assignment begins August 26, 2026, and runs through June 3, 2027, providing stability and a clearly defined schedule throughout the year.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active Illinois licensure and certification in Special Education is required
• Prior experience in a school-based special education setting
• Strong classroom management and differentiated instructional skills
• Ability to foster positive, growth-oriented relationships with students and colleagues
• Committed to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of 5 students in grades 3 and 4
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address diverse learning needs
• Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in meetings as needed
• Use evidence-based strategies to help students achieve social, behavioral, and academic success
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student goals
