Medical Receptionist Physical Therapy

Front Desk CoordinatorThis role will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. Responsible for patient check in and check out, scheduling necessary follow up and ancillary appointments, payment collection, and maintaining accurate patient records.Core responsibilities include:Greeting incoming patients using friendly, respectful communicationObtaining and documenting up to date demographic information for patients, including updated insurance information, license information, etc.Accepting patient payments and documenting accordinglyFamiliar with payments required from patients enrolled in all insurance plans that InterMed participates with and collect necessary co-paysMaintaining accurate transaction batches on credit card machine; balancing cash drawerAssisting billing office with problem resolution as necessaryNotifying clinical staff that patient has arrived via the EMRMaking patient aware of any unusual delay in their appointment timeAnswering incoming telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette and prioritizing telephone encounters appropriatelyBeing familiar with forms necessary for patient appointments to include scanning, printing, assembling, and mailing patient packetsBeing familiar with computerized appointment scheduling system and scheduling patients with all necessary follow-up and ancillary appointmentsMonitoring automated confirmation calls and updating EMRMaintaining strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA guidelines and InterMed policiesPerforming other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMedMission and values include:Following InterMed's mission to provide patient-centered primary care, putting the patient first to deliver high quality, high value careProviding the highest quality care to our patients with a level of service that exceeds their expectationsMaintaining a positive attitude and always treating our patients and each other with dignity and respectInsisting on honesty and integrity from each other and our business partnersMaking teamwork a core component of our relationships between physicians, staff, and patientsEmbracing change to better serve our patientsUsing business practices that feature individual accountability and group responsibility to ensure delivery of high value healthcareHaving fun as we carry out our mission to serveKnowledge, skills, and abilities include:Education: High School diploma or equivalent requiredAbility and willingness to provide excellent customer service to patients, InterMed colleagues and vendorsAbility to work independently and accuratelyExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work well in busy environmentProficient with Windows based computer applicationsFlexibility and willingness to work as a team memberAccurate typing, transcribing, and data entry skillsThe estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
