Assistant Manager II

Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas Perform opening and closing procedures as needed Process corporate directives such as Pull & Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, and other store‑related communications Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record‑keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and receipts) Maintain a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards Protect and secure company assets, including store cash Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates comply Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions among customers, associates, and leadership Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required Benefits Medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance Employee Assistance Program Retirement plans Educational assistance Additional rewards supporting health, wealth, and mental well‑being Location & Compensation Full time, 381 W. Compton Blvd, Compton, California 90220. Salary range: $20.50 to $21.25 per hour. Licensing & Compliance We are required to obtain specialized licenses for stores that sell alcohol and/or tobacco. As a manager, you may need to provide background information necessary to obtain a license. Failure to comply may result in demotion or separation.
