Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, ensuring you gather essential background information and assess clients' needs.

• Document cases meticulously from the initial interview to treatment completion, maintaining comprehensive records that inform and guide client care.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing their unique mental health challenges.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing various evidence-based techniques to promote healing and empowerment.

• Regularly monitor client progress against established treatment plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive care plans that ensure comprehensive support for clients.

• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients needing additional care or being treated in hospitals, ensuring seamless continuity of care.

• Identify and implement strategies to prevent behaviors that may hinder client recovery, actively supporting client resilience and positive choices.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in navigating challenges associated with mental health, providing education and support that enhance their ability to assist their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Citrus Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a diverse range of clients who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and substance use disorders, among other mental health challenges. Your role is crucial in helping these individuals and families find balance and well-being, utilizing a client-centered approach that respects their unique experiences and backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrable experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a history of successful client outcomes.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, enhancing your administrative efficiency.

• A solid understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health issues, alongside experience with addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of best practices as established by organizations like the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the skill to articulate complex ideas clearly.

• An empathetic and supportive demeanor, characterized by exceptional interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within a telehealth framework, adapting therapeutic techniques to an online environment.

• Specialization in specific therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.

• Familiarity with the effects of psychopharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n
