Work Environment

As a Home Health Physical Therapist, you will work onsite directly with patients in their residences, primarily in Waldwick and surrounding areas. This role necessitates a compassionate approach to care as you engage with patients in familiar settings. You will operate primarily during weekdays, specifically from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions, utilizing interviews, observations, and physical assessments to determine their mobility needs.
• Design individualized therapeutic plans that emphasize recovery goals based on evidence-based practices and patient evaluations.
• Implement a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, gait training, and balance exercises aimed at improving functional outcomes.
• Instruct patients and their family members on effective home exercise programs and recovery strategies to promote self-management.
• Provide education on injury prevention and ergonomic practices to help patients maintain a sustainable lifestyle.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with both regulatory and insurance guidelines.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary, and communicating significant changes to healthcare providers and caregivers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a Physical Therapist will involve working with a diverse population of patients, including those recovering from surgery, injury rehabilitation, chronic pain, and age-related mobility issues. This patient-focused approach requires strong interpersonal skills, as you will be building rapport and trust with your patients, often under challenging circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Doctoral or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy practice, preferably with a focus on home healthcare or outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical assessment skills along with proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a thorough understanding of rehabilitation methods.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; additional specializations in areas such as geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation will be advantageous.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to patient homes is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The offered salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
