Job Summary

The RN - Week Day - Med/Surg/Peds is responsible to plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with established philosophy, policies, and procedures. Relates with other shifts, departments, personnel. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills.

Job Qualifications

Education

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred/Optional: BSN

Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Required: Completion nursing education program. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and professional conduct. Possesses good communication skills. Interacts appropriately and positively with peers, patients, families, physicians, and professionals. Maintains professionalism in the community, protects the confidentiality of the patient and serves as a patient advocate at all times. Ability to learn and adapt. Demonstrates clinical competence. Demonstrates ability to direct others and delegate appropriately.

Preferred/Optional: One to two years nursing experience.

Certifications/Licenses

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Current Michigan license. BCLS within 30 days of hire. Achieves 80% or better on medication test.
