Receiving

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments of raw materials, components, supplies, and other goods. This role plays a critical part in supporting production by ensuring that inventory is received in a timely manner, is undamaged, and matches purchase orders. The Receiving Clerk also maintains proper documentation and ensures items are stored appropriately within the warehouse or staging areas. Essential Functions: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries for accuracy and damage. Compare packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure correct quantities and items. Document and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages to appropriate departments. Enter receiving information into ERP or inventory management systems accurately and promptly. Label and stage received materials in designated warehouses or production areas. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to unload and move goods Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the receiving area. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Collaborate with procurement, inventory control, and production teams to ensure material flow. Non-Essential Functions: Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counts. Support shipping, warehousing, or production activities during downtime or peak periods. Assist in the return process of damaged or incorrect materials to suppliers. Participate in departmental meetings and process improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 1+ year of experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory control (manufacturing experience preferred) Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) Ability to read and understand packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices. Forklift certification or ability to obtain one. Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience Good communication and teamwork skills Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday. Manual dexterity to handle small parts and operate warehouse equipment. Exposure to warehouse and manufacturing environments, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
